On Saturday afternoon many villagers and visitors to the area climbed up the narrow stone staircase to the Bell Tower to inspect the new bells. Dave Symonds, Bell Captain, was on hand to show people around and explain the workings of the bell pulleys, wheels, etc., It was a very interesting talk and it was wonderful to see the new Queen Elizabeth II Bell in all her glory (are bells female? – bit like ships, I think they are). The views over the village were also astounding. Many thanks must go to Dave and his team for all the work they have done over the last month.
