Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Events 2nd, 3rd and 4th June

THE QUEENS DIAMOND JUBILEE CELEBRATIONS JUNE 02/03/04 2012

After many meetings a wonderful programme of events had now been agreed and the weekend timetable is as follows:

All events will take place in the Marquee in the Clapps Mead Playing Field.  There will be w.c. facilities but there will not be any parking.

SATURDAY  2nd JUNE.

1pm. Judging of the Flower Arrangement Competition.

2-45 pm Judging of the Kids ‘Bake Off’ Competition.

3.00pm Childrens Party with fun and games, make a Crown competition, Play Bus, Scrumptious Tea and the children of the Village will receive their commemorative Jubilee Mug.  The party will end at approx. 6pm.

7.30 p.m.  Party in the Park! Dance the night away to sounds of the 50’s, 60’s, 70’s and 80’s.  Bring your own refreshments, glasses and nibbles. There will be an ongoing wine raffle and the draw will be held for the raffle for the Chideock News organised by Tony Fuller.  If you have not bought your tickets yet they are available in the shops and pubs!!  They may also be some other ‘surprises’.

SUNDAY 3rd JUNE

11.00 a.m. Jubilee Songs of Praise followed by Coffee and Biscuits.

12.30 pm. Picnic on the field.  For all those wishing to bring a picnic and enjoy some sound music.

MONDAY 4th JUNE

12.00 noon.  unil 4.00pm (ish)

ART EXHIBITION

ART WORKSHOP WITH THE CHILDREN

CHIDEOCK PAST AND PRESENT an exhibition of old photo’s, painting and memorabilia of Chideock. Also the opportunity to have your say with regard to how you would like your village to be in the future.

TEA AND CAKES WITH THE W.I. at 2.p.m.

2.00p.m.  THE CARRIAGE RACE either join in or support the Carriages with a Queen and a Footman racing!

3.00 pm THE ROYAL QUIZ.  25 ‘easy’ questions on how much you know about the Queen and the Royal Family – win a bottle of fizz!

3.45pm. Results of the Murder Mystery Quiz – sheets of clues available from the pubs and shops.

10.00 pm. Torchlight Procession to Thorncombe Beacon to light the Jubilee Beacon.  Please meet at Seatown Car Park.
