GREAT BANK HOLIDAY WEEKEND!

IMG_4202A great time was had in Chideock over the Bank Holiday weekend.  Saturday kicked off with the Chideock Fete which is always a firm favourite.  The Playing Field was full of happy families all enjoing the ‘fun of the fete’. Families enjoyed the Craft Stalls, Tombolas, Raffles, Book Stall, Splat the Rat, Human Fruit Machine, Ice Creams, Table Skittles, Marble Game,Teas and Cakes and so much more.  A particular favourite was the ‘Guess the weight of the Marrow’ – a huge marrow of giant proportions.  Lots of monies were raised for various village groups and causes.  Many thanks to all those who helped especially those ‘stalwarts’ who helped ‘set up’ and clear away.  Sunday morning dawned with the Big Bank Holiday Breakfast in the Village Hall. This was an amazing success with Anna Dunn and her team raising nearly £400 for Village Hall funds.  Thanks to Denhay Farm, Cains Farm, Hangers Dairy and The George for their support.

DSC04470Sunday afternoon the ‘action’ was at Seatown with the Annual Duck Race.  This always popular event held FOUR duck races this year with everyone ‘shouting’ for their ‘duck’ swimming valiantly down the River Winniford.  A great afternoon was had by all. Thanks to The Anchor for their support and Keith Bayliss and the Seatown ‘team’.  All profits will go to The Fete Committee Community Fund.
