CHIDEOCK WI BEACH CLEAN AT SEATOWN

WI beach cleanChideock WI, together with Cattistock WI, supported the beach clean held at Seatown on the morning of 26th April. Seven stalwart members faced a biting wind and rain to collect plastic rubbish off the beach. Among examples of plastic found were plastic bottle lids, plastic string and rope, plastic netting, fishing line and plastic cable ties.

This was one of the events organised by the Dorset Federation in partnership with Surfers Against Sewage, as part of the WI campaign, Plastic Soup, which is designed to raise awareness of the damage caused by plastic in our oceans and on our beachesThe WI campaign also advises on how we can all lessen plastic particles from washing getting into the chain. Participants were provided with free coffee and a well earned rest, by the Anchor Inn.
