After the devasting fire at The Clockhouse Inn last Easter Monday it is now apparent that the insurance payout will be far less than the monies needed to rebuild The Clock. Another round of fundraising will now be needed to ensure that this vital community asset opens its doors once again and becomes the hub of our village life as it has done in the past. Mike & Helen always came to the fore when monies needed to be raised, i.e. The St.Giles Bells, Somerset Air Ambulance, Catholic Church Dome, The Bopper Bus and The Clock hosted many fundraising opportunities for many causes. Without the Clock as a homebase fundraising is becoming a little confused and disjointed. To this end a SOCC Fundraising Committee is needed to arrange events, co-ordinate different fundraising schemes and to generally be on hand to give information and answer any questions.
